Innovative solutions from Change Healthcare are devising care episodes and operating payment programs at plans representing a commercially insured population of 94.3 million
Leading health plans representing 33% of U.S. commercially insured clients are now using value-based payment solutions from Change Healthcare to design, scale, analyze, and help ensure accurate payment for innovative alternative payment programs.
Change Healthcare solutions such as HealthQx and Episode Management are being used to model and analyze payment programs, scale them from pilot to nationwide deployment, and help payers continuously improve results. These payment programs include mixed- and alternative payment models, such as bundled payment, as well as Accountable Care Organizations and other at-risk arrangements.
“When a solution can help a large payer go from a cold start to a full alternative payment pilot in under 90 days, that’s sure to turn heads,” said Mark McAdoo, VP Value-Based Payments at Change Healthcare. “That’s an exceedingly short time-to-value, and it’s why we have achieved a leadership position for value-based healthcare IT. And we will continue to invest in the technologies that help our customers establish a sound foundation for competing in a market increasingly focused on value.”
Episodes of Care programs, such as those designed and operationalized with HealthQx and Episode Management from Change Healthcare, are helping payers collaborate with providers to move from legacy fee-for-service to models that help improve care quality, enhance patient satisfaction, and reduce medical and administrative costs.
Change Healthcare value-based solutions help payers and providers simplify and automate the design, deployment, and optimization of complex mixed- and alternative value-based payment models, including retrospective and prospective approaches. The HealthQx solution provides data exploration and visualization to help analysts, actuarial teams, and payment leaders capitalize on healthcare business intelligence to support retrospective payment programs. Episode Management integrates into payer claims adjudication workflows to help streamline processes and scale prospective payment models.
